The Ski Concierge at Four Season had me at “may I unbuckle your ski boots for
you Ms Burke?” This is living, and skiing at its peak at Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The Four Seasons at Jackson Hole is by far the best ski hotel in Wyoming, and
arguable best in the west. Posh service for powder lovers starts with the ski
concierge who handles your equipment from the curb to corduroy - taking the
hassle out of hauling your ski gear.
The spacious suites have beautiful
appointments and awesome views of the mountain or the valley, while the Hotel’s
numerous lobbies and library offer sumptuous leather couches, fireplaces, and
fine dining all with a view of the skiing up to Jackson Hole’s Tram summit.
As skis and boots are whisked away, replaced by slippers, après ski in the
fireside Four Seasons lounge seems the next obvious choice. Families circle
around outdoor firepit tables for s’mores, while couples inside enjoy freshly
prepared sushi in the fireside lounge, or artfully prepared elk, bison, and
wagyu beef in the elegant West Grill.
At the outdoor heated spa and pool, your
fluffy robes and towels are stowed in a heated closet by an attendant and handed
to you after your slopeview soak. There is a full-service spa at the Four
Seasons as well. Or borrow a Mercedes Benz and drive to town to find those
perfect cowboy boots or that lovely leather or fur coat.
For a break from the butt kicking terrain at Jackson Hole, The Four Seasons
concierge will orchestrate a wilderness safari with Tenley, their naturalist and
photographer. Tenley chauffeurs you just a mile outside of Jackson, in a
Mercedes SUV equipped with individual Swarovski binoculars, to The National Elk
Refuge where 9,000 of these grand animals graze. In our afternoon, we saw the
big four: elk, moose, bison and bighorn sheep, the bear were hibernating. We saw
a wily coyote and elegant white trumpeter swan, while we snacked on our
delicious car picnic created by the Four Seasons chef.
