Luxury Snowbird Ski Vacations, Utah
Stay at Snowbird's Cliff Lodge and Spa...
Snowbird is on every skiers list of great resorts for its bountiful snow and the
base to summit Tram. A Snowbird vacation means plenty of vertical, and a dose of
ski vacation luxury when you stay at The Cliff Lodge and Spa. The Cliff Lodge is
a 10 story hotel, best described as glass and concrete, and maximum views of the Wasatch Mountain range. The Cliff Lodge is ultra convenient, with lockers on ski
slope level to store your skis and dry your boots and gloves. You can walk to
the slopes and the Snowbird Center –where ski shops and cafes are clustered
along with the Tram loading area. Apres ski at Cliff Lodge, head to the top
floor Spa for a massage or a rocky mountain glow scrub. All of the treatment
rooms have a view of the slopes you just conquered, and the Spa has its own
rooftop pool and Jacuzzi. The Cliff Lodge also offers a heated outdoor pool and
hot tub at slope level overlooking the Chickadee beginner area.
The Aerie Restaurant and Sushi Bar on the Cliff Lodge’s 10th floor is the place
to be in the evening. Great food, drinks and music at 8,500’ make for a perfect
end to your powder day with a view of your ski tracks. If you have extra energy,
the Tram Bar is the late night place for dancing, billiards, and sports on the
big screen. But remember, first tracks in Utah’s trademark “Greatest Snow on
Earth” are rewarded to those on first Tram, not last call at the Tram Bar.
Snowbird’s 125-passenger Tram climbs an awesome 2,900’ in just six minutes. From
the highly scenic 11,000’ Hidden Peak summit you can ski the legendary Cirque,
drop into the backside bowl of Mineral Basin, or take the meandering 2.5 mile
Chip’s Run back to the base.
Snowbird has a super long ski season, typically mid-November to mid-May, and
almost 5,000-acres of terrain now that you can purchase the Snowbird Alta ticket
and ski both resorts. Alta is for skiers only, a classic alpine area with steep
chutes and serious skiing. Lunch at Watson’s Shelter at Alta’s mid-mountain is
top shelf, linen table cloths and a leisurely break from your long ski runs.
Snowbird is just 29-miles from Salt Lake City, with convenient shuttles from the
airport into Little Cottonwood Canyon and The Cliff Lodge – so you can fly and
ski the same day. Leave the driving to them, and focus on skiing and enjoying
the Utah scene. We say Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge and Spa is a skier’s must for an
on-mountain vacation.
