Mammoth Mammoth receives plentiful snow all winter, and come spring, things soften up
and the crowds disappear. Open until July 4th some years.
Snowbird, Utah Snowbird gets so much snow, over 500-inches a season, affording them long
lasting conditions, often well into May, and great lodging deals at the
luxurious Cliff Lodge.
Alta, Utah
Alta's copious amounts of snow and high elevation afford it fabulous April
skiing. They generally close about April 20th with 100% of their terrain open.
Lodging at the High Rustler can be a deal on the shoulder seasons.
Arapahoe Basin
High elevation at the Colorado ski resort, and great tailgate parties, make this
an annual spring rite of passage. The Palivaccini is a spring ski must. Often
open well into June.
Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia
Whistler and Blackcomb are high elevation, and the ski scene keeps rolling here
through April with festivals and plenty of skiing and riding, particularly on
the Blackcomb glacier.
Loveland Colorado
Loveland is often the first to open in the country, and with it high elevation
open into May. Classic above tree-line setting in Colorado. Squaw Valley
and
Alpine Meadows
Lake Tahoe’s Squaw and Alpine Meadows generally stays open til mid-May.
You have California sunshine, Lake views and tons of terrain. Season may be
longer or shorter based upon snow accumulation in
Lake Tahoe for the season.
Timberline Mount Hood, Oregon
The US Ski Team trains here in June and July, so there’s plenty of snow on this
gorgeous glacier a summer ski fix. Lodging at the Timberline Lodge is ultra
convenient and historical. Winter season goes until Memorial Day Weekend.
Mount Hood Meadows, Oregon
This Northern Flank of Mt Hood protects its snow well and is generally open til
Mid-May.
Mt Bachelor Oregon
Bachelor’s elevation and above tree line skiing affords good late season skiing
in Oregon.

Sunshine, Banff
Sunshine snow years can vary so Ski Sunshine
at Banff can remain open until mid-may some
years and close the third week in April others. The gondola whisks you to the
higher elevations of Sunshine Village and the
Sunshine Mountain Lodge where the snow lasts on good snow years. And Banff is a
beautiful
ski town in any season.
Late Season Operations Note: Many of these resorts have full
facility and winter operations (most lifts running, base lodges open until mid
to late April). They will often stay open several weeks longer with limited
lifts (maybe one summit lift) and limited base lodge operations.
