Wyoming is wonderful for skiers, wide open spaces, spectacular views of the
Grand Tetons, roaming wild elk, but few skiers compared to Colorado and Utah.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is where
many of the best skiers go. You’re in the National Forest of The Grand Tetons, and your skiing
Rendezvous and Après Vous Mountains - so the scenery and snow are very special. With over 4,000 vertical feet of skiing
off the Jackson Hole Tram,
and the legendary ski chute Corbet’s Couloir, its easy to see why ski
bums come to Teton Village (the lodging base at Jackson), and stay and ski every
day. But the real story here is the top shelf lodging at the base of Jackson
Hole. Staying at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole in Teton
Village just steps from the gondola is the most luxurious, best located ski
hotel we have encountered. Read our review on the five diamond
Four Seasons
Jackson Hole and you will be hooked too.
Amangani is another amazing resort just
a short drive from the slopes of Jackson Hole and Snow King Resort. See our
review and photos of Amangani's
architecturally marvelous setting with posh service and incredibly scenic suite
lodging. For skiers who like to stay in a great town, the cowboy main street of
Jackson Wyoming is postcard perfect with great après ski bars, boutiques and
Wyoming art galleries. The White Buffalo Club
offers skiers an ideal downtown lodging property, it's a private club with
spacious suites for skiers, and a fantastic restaurant on site. White Buffalo
Club is
just two blocks from the Elk Arches and Jackson Town Square, and a short shuttle
ride to Jackson Hole skiing.
Grand Targhee Ski Resort on the border
of Wyoming and Idaho is a gem, it's off the grid of most skiers' paths and plentiful in its powder accumulation with over 500-inches annually. See our
review and photos of Grand Targhee,
including cat skiing, gorgeous views of the Grand Tetons, and one of the best
après ski bars, Traps, on the planet.
Snow King Ski Area
in Jackson Wyoming offers a fun and challenging day of skiing right in town.
Like Grand Targhee, Snow King is not fancy but the terrain is impressive,
un-crowded and very friendly.
